Due to several significant project wins, our Rail team are looking for a Team Digital Engineering Lead to join our growing team of over 160 project management and technical staff in ANZ. The role is based in our Melbourne office, with opportunities to support our wider ANZ delivery teams.

This role assigned with the development, management and continuous improvement of CAD systems, common data environments (CDE), model management and information exchanges, and associated documentation to ensure efficient, and consistent digital delivery of projects.
 
Duties will include:

• Undertake modelling and drafting activities;
• Plan, organise and effectively manage a team of technical staff to maximise efficiency, productivity and consistency in delivery;
• Implement and manage the Common Data Environment and all respective interfaces, responsible for establishing workflows and processes based on project requirements;
• Ensuring that all model and drawing project deliverables are produced in accordance with relevant WSP, client and any project specific requirements;
• Participate during the proposal stage of projects, support bid development by preparing the pre-contract Digital Engineering Execution Plan (DEXP) and developing methodology;
• Initiating and implementing the project DEXP, including the definition of object, discipline and area classification, LoD requirements etc.;
• Engaging and interacting with wider business DE community, including the section DE Capability Development Lead (CDL), software champions and other DE Leads to ensure a consistent approach is taken across all projects, and;
• Managing the processes and procedure for all information exchanges on projects.

Key Attributes:

• Tertiary qualifications in field of Engineering/Architecture and/or extensive (15+ years) industry experience within an engineering, CAD and/or BIM field;
• Extensive experience in the use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD to deliver large scale integrated projects is preferred, including the production and management of discipline specific drawings and models;
• Experience in the setup, configuration and administration of common data environments, particularly ProjectWise experience is highly desirable;
• Excellent 3D modelling and drafting skills together with a demonstrated willingness and ability to take ownership of all deliverables prepared by a team of technical staff including modellers and drafters;
• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to investigate, recommend and implement CAD system improvements, especially in relation to emerging DE processes and technology, and;
• Experience in federated model management and design coordination activities, including clash detection using either AutoDesk, NavisWorks or Bentley Navigator.
