THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare opportunity for an inspirational operations leader to join Ampcontrol and drive the operational performance of our Queensland engineering, workshop and field service activities. The role forms an integral part of the Ampcontrol Queensland leadership team and will have direct focus on safety, people leadership, continuous improvement, production control, planning, and budgeting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

With safety as a core value, you will ensure the coordination of day-to-day operations and financial responsibility of the Queensland Service division. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the engineering, workshop and field services process, managers, supervisors and workforce;
  • Ensuring all teams are resourced to meet demand and have the skills, qualifications and competencies to achieve the scope of works;
  • Ensuring the provision of a safe working environment and safe work practices;
  • Tendering, profiling, customer issues, contractor management and compliance with relevant standards; and
  • Establishing customer relationships and consolidating and enhancing existing relationships.

As a key driver of the Queensland Service strategic direction, with a focus on continuous improvement, you will ensure that resources, skills and technology are in place to deliver against the business plan to maximise future potential opportunities and emerging markets.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Your proven ability to drive operational excellence across multiple functions will be complemented by the following:

  • Safety as a core value;
  • An Advanced Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred);
  • Experience in the mining and utilities market sectors;
  • Leadership experience in technical manufacturing and field service operations;
  • Previous budget management experience, with the ability to read and interpret P&L and balance sheets;
  • Ability to analyse and identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
