About the business
Wittenbaker Engineering Services (WES) is a fast growing diverse company which is strategically located in Henderson within close proximity to the Australian Marine Complex. WES specialises in the manufacture and repair of mining, rail, marine, power generation and oil & gas equipment. WES is currently in search of a highly motivated Project Manager/Estimator with strong experiences in fabrication and estimating projects, to join our team.
Key Tasks
- Plan the project time line including third party suppliers
- Review job routing in factory master
- Negotiate and order materials in a tight schedule considering companies cash flow
- Follow and develop work procedures
- Consider utilisation capacity of the fabrication sector and machine shop
- Work tightly with the Workshop Manager as a team and ensure important due dates
- Organise packing, despatch and delivery to ensure an efficient process through delivery of goods to end of order/project
- Continuously review job cards and update estimates
- Provide excellent customer service under all circumstances
- Meticulously read and consider customer specifications
- Estimate mainly fabricated products which require CNC - machining
- Create professional estimation sheets using Microsoft excel
- Implement Factory Master (ERP Software) into your everyday routine
- Create and send quotations to customers.
- Ensure the efficient and effective use of personnel, workshop, facilities and equipment
- Determine priorities and allocate work to Workshop Manager
- Schedule jobs in team with Workshop Manager
- Report to the Lead Project Manager
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have the following Qualifications, Experience and Key features:
- Minimum 3 years trade experience in heavy steel fabrication
- Minimum 5 years experience in CNC – machining
- Minimum 3 years experience in a management role
- Strong understanding of Australian Standard AS1554 Part 1 & 5
- Strong understanding of fabrication procedures such as WPS & WPQR
- Able to meticulously read fabrication drawings and plan the schedule of activities
- Able to estimate fabrication costs and production time
- Able to estimate projects and follow up
- Meticulously read and understand material codes and data sheets
- Excellent knowledge in Excel, Word, Project Management
- Very good understanding of mathematics
- Very good understanding and use of mechanical calculations
- Able to determine the most efficient work holding methods
- Work fast and efficiently
- Excellent written, verbal and general communication skills
- Excellent work ethics
- Able to work unsupervised
- Demonstrate safe work practices
- Reliable transportation
