What are we looking for?

Our high performing Infrastructure team in New South Wales continues to grow from strength to strength and we require a well-established Discipline Manager to take on a leadership role for our team in Sydney.

Your role will include:

  • Take a key role in managing and leading the Heavy Rail and Independent Assurance Services team, providing both leadership and technical guidance to team members, while developing the team to its full potential;
  • Managing an on-going relationship with the client and influencing decisions in both the client organisation and the industry and promoting Arcadis;
  • Developing strong, partnering relationships with senior client personnel to identify and resolve issues, to identify business opportunities and to influence their decision making;
  • Leading all aspects of resources on projects within the function/discipline team including (a) maintenance of forecast resource requirements (secured work and prospects) and (b) appointment of Project Managers in line with agreed authorisation levels
  • Identifying and pursuing new opportunities through building and consolidating networks within the NSW Heavy Rail and Independent Assurance Services industry;
  • Make valuable contributions to our projects through innovation and technical solutions whilst developing and maintaining relationships with clients; and
  • Championing the involvement and inclusion of the GECs in work for the business by ensuring that staff understand the benefits and requirement of the inclusion of the GECs as a seamless part of our service offering

Who are we looking for?

You will have:

  • Relevant degree recognised by the relevant Industry Association or Institute - Chartered professional status, or equivalent, Post graduate qualification an advantage;
  • Recognised leader in Heavy Rail discipline with well-established industry networks and with Design, Construction and Assurance experience;
  • 15+ years relevant experience - more than 5 years’ relevant experience including leadership in the Assurance field
  • Sound knowledge of the industry, a demonstrated ability in sales and business development and a proven record in entrepreneurial  behaviour;
  • Strong consulting skills including design management and client relationship management at senior management level;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
