• Support customer upgrading to Special steels and to strategic products
• Submitting material selection recommendations in accordance with design specifications and factors such as strength, weight and cost
• Support technical customer developments in terms of design concept reviews, production improvements and quality
• Show how to use right equipment and tools to achieve maximum efficiency under safe operating conditions when using our steel products
• Ensuring correct materials and equipment are used and that they conform to specifications
• Conferring with producers of materials (production specialists and metallurgists), during the investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications
• Supporting low-carbon initiatives and participating in carbon-reduction forums; doing ECO-upgrades for customers, calculations on lifecycle assessments such as emission savings as a result of less steel used in a product’s lifecycle
• Develop sales through technical support and educate the local team through technical trainings and support in daily work
• Development and implementation of the Country Manager area strategy together with the Country Manager
• To work according to and support SSAB´s short and long term strategic goals
• Do the job safely at all times, share relevant risk observations with the organization and help colleagues to act safely
• Working alongside material specialists at Universities and R&D companies, suggesting on potential collaboration areas themed on industry needs to develop new material uses
• Reviewing product failure data and coordinating laboratory tests to establish or reject possible causes, and advising on mitigation measures and best practice
