Rail Systems Commisioning Manager

An immediate requirement has been identified for a Rail Systems Commissioning Manager to work on a technically challenging rail project for our state government client in the transport sector.
 
The role will involve the coordination and integration of configuration design and testing activities in line with overall project delivery requirements. You will be expected to lead a team of project managers in the delivery of Electrical Isolation Improvement projects to ensure they meet the agreed scope of works in a financially responsible manner within a safe working environment in compliance with Sydney Trains reliability and quality requirements.  
Additionally, you will be expected to manage the investigation, analysis and authorisation of the design, implementation, testing and the delivery of correction of second and third level Control Systems failures and defects, providing Engineering Design and Commissioning Authority.
 
The key challenges for this role will be to ensure all agreed projects are delivered on time and to expected standards and requirements given the number of projects that need to be delivered and the size and complexity of each project whilst maintaining 24h x day x 365 operational performance characteristics for a Control System with safety related functionality suitable.
 
Selection Criteria:
 

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and experience working in a rail environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design principles, methodologies and risk assessment in the implementation, construction, testing and commissioning of Control Systems in a railway signalling environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of railway signalling and train operations.
• High level of communication, negotiation and problem solving skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of the organisation.
• Demonstrated capability in the use of project management tools and spreadsheets.
• Ability in delivering Control Systems projects to completion and customer expectations.
• Experienced in project management role, managing large complex multi-disciplinary Control Systems projects in a technology-driven environment.
• Experienced in bids, and proposal preparation.
