REDARC is market leader in the field of Power Electronics with its primary focus on power management, safety, voltage converters and mobile solar solutions for the Recreation & Leisure, Transport, Emergency Vehicles, Defence and Marine markets.

As a key member of the Engineering & Technology team, your role will involve:-
- Design and develop complex new products
- Experienced in analogue and digital hardware design skills
- Development of embedded microprocessor firmware using C, C++ and assembler
- Working with key stakeholders in Sales, Procurement, Engineering, Production and Quality to determine specifications, then develop designs through to easily manufacturable production ready products
- Lead product development project teams and mentor junior staff
- Ability to locate, read, interpret and implement relevant product design standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree Engineering with relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
- Electronics Design Engineer - minimum 5 years' experience
- Broad range of electronic design skills and Protel/DXP/Altium experience
- Practical experience with microprocessors and embedded systems.
- Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Experience with PCB design and layout for EMC, immunity, vibration and environmental impacts
- Generation of schematics and PCB CAD files
- Generation of bills of materials (BOMs)
- Liaison with subcontractors for design and delivery of prototypes and tooling including discrete components
- Experience in working within Quality frameworks including ISO9001
- Excellent communication skills
- Creative thinking, initiative and drive
- Team player who is flexible and adaptable
- A desire to work with complex products, understand their application
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Desirable)
- Process/manufacturing/quality experience
- Product testing experience
- Experience working in automotive, defence or mining
- Experience of working on projects using the APQP / Stage Gate process
- Good communication skills at all levels of business
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good teamwork
- Ability to work as part of cross functional teams
- Ability to solve complex engineering issues
- Mentor others in problem solving
- Advanced skills in MS Office
- Advanced skills in drawing packages
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
