The Role
As a result of a strong project backlog and future pipeline of opportunities, our Newcastle office has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Water Engineer to join our team. You will be involved in detailed design, design management and project management, working with a multi-disciplinary team on a range of water infrastructure and wastewater infrastructure feasibility and design projects.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an engineer to grow their experience, working as part of a high performing, close-knit regional team, with contact and support from global technical specialists. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing to and managing small, medium and large-scale projects, working with a range of clients.
In addition to providing technical input and advice, you will be given the opportunity to work directly with clients, expanding your business development and networking skills. You will guide and mentor junior engineers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.
Duties will include:
- Design management including development and execution of drawings, data sheets and functional
- Performs calculation checking and equipment vendor drawing reviews
- Participation in reviews like CHAIR and HAZOP
- Mentor, lead and guide a group of process engineers
- Interact with all stakeholders including client and vendors
- Increase revenue of the area / business including margins
- Develop and grow the team technically – this is key for our client development and strengthening in the process design space
About You
- Bachelor degree in Civil, Chemical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Relevant post graduate qualifications, preferably CPEng
- 8-10+ years relevant experience
- Lead Engineer in at least 2 projects with a team of 3-5 people.
- Must be capable of leading engineering and multi-discipline teams through all design phases
- Hands on experience in Mass Balance/Design basis//Equipment Sizing/PFD/P&ID/Hydraulics/PDS.
- Working experience with process modelling software e.g. BIOWIN will be favoured.
- Working experience with hydraulic network modelling software e.g. InfoWorks, Water/Sewer GEMS will be favoured.
