We currently have a Full Time vacancy for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Geotechnical department on a Full Time basis. This role is based in our Deer Park office and reports to the National Manager of Geotechnical Engineering.  
 
Your role will include, but will not be limited to:

• Conduct soil testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, AS1289 test methods, preparation of work instructions and manuals;
• Prepare samples for testing;
• Calibrate laboratory equipment when required; and maintain equipment and calibration register;
• Liaise with technical and sales staff in relation to internal/external customer requirements and complaints;
• Maintain, observe, and take part in the statutory safety requirements of the Laboratory operation;
• Maintenance of the Laboratory according to NATA accreditation requirements

 As an ideal candidate you will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Science; or a minimum Cert IV Laboratory Systems and relevant experience
• A minimum three years’ experience (Degree Qualified) or five years’ experience (CertIV)
• Level 4/5 as per NATA CMT document 
• Licensed to drive a manual motor vehicle preferred
• White Card or Equivalent holder preferred
• Nuclear density license holder preferred
• Strong customer focus, analytical skills with a commitment to safety and quality
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
• Proficient skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (particularly Microsoft Office Suite);
• Excellent time management and organisational skills;
• An ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines;
• Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards;
