Site Manager – Morwell     

Programmed Industrial Maintenance is a specialist provider of maintenance and project services with more than 1,200 employees and 15 years' experience. We provide maintenance solutions to the resources, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors across Australia.

Due to continued growth and success we have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Site Manager to oversee and develop our maintenance contract at our blue chip client’s site in Morwell.

Your primary focus will be the responsibility for the delivery, expansion and service excellence through effective management and monitoring of all operational requirements. This will allow you to assist in the delivery of all required works in a safe, timely and client desired manner, whilst meeting our business quality standards.  You will be overseeing our site trades maintenance team, who are engaged on a rotational shift basis at this 24/7 operation. Safety is of the upmost importance to both Programmed Industrial Maintenance and our client, as such you are required to be a heavily safety focused individual. 

Key requirements for the role are :

  • A Mechanical Trades / Engineering background with a track record of managing the maintenance of FMCG – ideally in the food industry
  • A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service and financial responsibilities
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing work method statements to control identified hazards
  • The ability to effectively manage a group of trades persons in an unionised environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail – strong analytical & conceptual skills
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • The capability of multi-tasking and adhering to tight deadlines
  • The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a variety of stake holders at all levels including experience in negotiating with Trade Unions.
  • A proven track record of coordinating labour, planning, compliance with policies & procedures pertaining to safety, commercial obligation, risk management, and protection of intellectual property
  • Strong leadership & people management skills
  • Experience in quoting, coordinating labour, materials and equipment for a smooth flow of projects and work in a timely, safe and cost-effective manner
  • The ability to work on your own and within a team
