We are Wollongong based air pollution control company which specializes in the field of gas, vapour and particulate emissions control. Currently, an opportunity exists for a project engineer to join a small team which delivers and services air pollution control equipment both within Australia and South East Asia. This position will be Perth based. Most of the work undertaken will consists in the design & delivery of new plant projects. The project engineer will work closely with the Perth based business development manager along with the following tasks (but not limited to):
- Checking manufacturing drawings for design intent.
- Liaising and coordination with the clients for successful project delivery
- Customer and supplier management
- Managing subcontractors for successful project delivery
- Producing & compiling necessary documentation for tendering & project delivery
- Liaising with suppliers for pricing, technical information and procurement
- Sound understanding of project management practices and processes
- Supporting and assisting the business development manager in developing tender packages
The successful candidate will be a qualified chemical/mechanical engineer (other engineering qualifications will also be considered) with at least 2 to 5 years’ experience with a focus on delivering projects in the pollution and odour control industry. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in procurement, project engineering and design, and project management involving chemical processes and dust collection but candidate with heavy industry or oil and gas experience may also be considered. It will be advantageous to have design and project engineering experience coupled with hands on experience.
Considering this role will be based in one of our satellite offices, we are looking for a self-motivated and self-starter (with minimum directions and guidance) team player with an understanding of project management and engineering principals. Candidate with high level interpersonal, effective communication skills and a second language is highly regarded.
