To meet Modis’s continuously growing pipeline of work, we are looking for a Technical Project Engineer to join the team to support and drive our expanding business. The Technical Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Lead Design in all aspects of the Technology design for South Flank, across all work packs.

The role is a combination of technical design work and project engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain User Requirements documents as required, including eliciting stakeholder requirements.
  • Review of design drawings from Jacobs and Fluor and feeding Technology requirements into the process, non-process and power infrastructure designs
  • Managing the completion of HSECOMMS (designing for HSEC, Constructability, Operability, Maintainability & Sustainability process for all work packs, including organising workshops
  • Assist in reviewing Technology designs for compliance with latest Technology, Client and Australian standards
  • Review work pack scopes of work, BoMs, quotations and assist project managers with technical and design issues
  • Manage the peer review process of Technology HLDs within the client with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor changes in project scope (Process, Non-Process and Power) and the impact on Technology work packs
  • Assist with ensuring design progress meets the project schedule
  • Review Technology test strategies, plans and detailed test procedures (with Lead Design, SME and vendor input and assistance).
  • Develop a detailed battery limits register for each work pack, documenting battery limits within Technology and with other disciplines and parties outside of Technology
  • Participate in design reviews and workshops, provide input in resolving technical design issues
  • Assist with package testing, witnessing testing and resolution of technical issues for:
  • FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing)
  • SIT (System Integration Testing)
  • SAT (System Acceptance Testing)

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in engineering, telecommunications or IT
  • Uncompromising safety values and attitude
  • Broad working technical knowledge of Technology systems including wireless infrastructure (towers and shelter), CCT, Access control, CCTV, radio (ideally TETRA), fire monitoring and IP networks
  • Experience in reviewing and/or developing detailed test strategies, plans and procedures and reports.
  • Major projects experience in a technical role (design or project engineering) in the resource industry
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to liaise with and build good working relationships with stakeholders, clients and vendors
  • Self-starter, proactive, team player, strong work ethic, outcome focused
  • Enjoys a challenge, keen to take on new tasks and develop new skills/knowledge
  • Thorough, very high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet schedule dates and timeframes
  • Professional experience level - minimum 5 years
