An exciting opportunity has arisen within our WA team for a self-sufficient and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team to develop designs on various projects within the resource sector.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical Engineering design and checking
- Management and ownership of mechanical design projects
- Maintain a safety focus through all aspects of work
- Support and collaborate with highly skilled designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant elements
- Prepare technical engineering documents as part of overall project engineering deliverables
- Occasional visits to client sites as required
- Represent EMtek throughout the complete project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction
- Ensure EMtek provides a quality service and clients are satisfied with Emtek's performance
- Promote and continually improve Emtek's commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment
Skills and experience
To be considered for this role you should have:
- 8+ years of multidiscipline Mechanical Engineering experience
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Should reside in the Perth metropolitan area
- Experience in the use of proprietary conveyor design packages, as well as bulk material handling software;
- Detailed knowledge of materials handling industry is essential, including conveyor and chute design;
- Experience across varied types of commodities from nickel through to iron ore would be favourable
- Fluid mechanics and hydraulic design experience favourable;
- Understanding of the principles of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and knowledge of FEA software, strand 7, ANSYS or equivalent is an advantage;
- Knowledge and experience with Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) packages is an advantage;
- Excellent organisational, communication, teamwork and time management skills;
- Testing and commissioning experience is advantageous;
- Technical aptitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think outside the box
- Hold a Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
