Smart Fabrication is looking for a Graduate Project Engineer to be part of the project team at its Port Adelaide headquarters for immediate start.
We are looking for applicants with at least 2 years’ experience being preferred in either; water, mining, oil & gas, structural or piping industries.
The Graduate Project Engineer position will predominately be to assist Project Management with major project, as well as managing minor project themselves along the way.
For the right applicant the opportunity will be there to progress into a project engineer, site engineer or project manager role, or to work with our sister engineering consultancy company, Ingenia.
Responsibilities can include;
- Design, drafting and minor engineering
- Managing small projects from start to finish
- Assisting team with larger projects
- Pricing and procuring parts and materials
- Quoting and Estimations
- Working directly with industry clients and suppliers
The following criteria are preferred for all applicants:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (any) or Project Management
- Ability to develop detailed designs & drawings for shop fabrication.
- Strong technical knowledge and conceptual design skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and see tasks through from beginning to end.
- Good written, interpersonal & communication skills.
- Demonstrate a strong practical ability, clear communication and a motivation to see a job through to completion.
- Advanced skills in MS Office suite (excel spreadsheets).
- Intermediate skills in MS Project.
- Permanent resident or the ability to undertake paid work in Australia.

Desirable:
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
- 2 year’s experience in industry In a similar role to advertised
- Knowledge of welding processes.
- Experience in estimation for metal fabrication projects..
- Completion of WHS Induction Training for Construction Industry Workers.
