The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and leading a team of engineers and technicians in the test, evaluation, characterization, development, qualification and transfer to production of products.

Description
As the Engineering manager you will be accountable for leading the entire operations from R&D and Manufacturing to Subcontractor Management and Strategic Planning. Other key responsibilities of the role include:
- Product evaluation, Testability and Manufacturability of products managed from conception through to production ramp
- Wafer-level and package-level measurement capabilities managed for fast turn around and reliable results
- Production test capabilities at wafer-level and package-level with optimised throughput and screening
- Reports, presentations and interpretation of simulated and measured results
- Characterisation of new devices within the timeline of the deliverables matrix
- Analysis and diagnosis of measured data with recommendations for improvement of processes and devices
- Recruit, develop and train high performing staff
- Manage the Product and Test Engineering group for high performance
Profile
In order to be successful in this role, you will have to be motivated, dynamic and energetic - demonstrating the drive and discipline to push through to secure engagement at various levels into potential client environments. Other key attributes of the role include:
- A formal qualification of Electrical Engineering Degree or Physics degree
- 10 years’ experience in semiconductor processing technology, including epitaxial growth, and in semiconductor optoelectronics devices, including photodiodes, light emitting diodes and photovoltaic devices
- Strong knowledge of optoelectronic device evaluation, characterization, test and qualification
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams of engineers and technicians
- Strong background in quality and understanding of industry quality expectations
- Ability to create a positive team environment, leveraging others’ expertise and sharing information and best practices to optimise work results
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative management style
