It's an exciting time to be part of this respected mineral processing company as they take a sustainable approach to expanding their existing operations in North Queensland. They were established in the mid 90’s and have built a reputation for producing low cost, high grade Zinc, Copper, Sulphuric Acid and Zinc ferrite for clientele across the world.
You will support the Maintenance Department to effectively improve the integrity and reliability of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systems in the refinery specifically; boilers, steam drums, steam turbine, zinc dust, Roasting, Leaching and Electrolyses.
Key accountabilities include:
- Develop maintenance manuals for electrical equipment, including instruments and control systems.
- Fulfil RO plant electrical maintenance as the area responsible engineer, including maintenance, modifications, installation, drawings, manuals, procedures, and spare parts
- Carry out any design as required to suit plant operating modifications or projects.
- Maintain the integrity and reliability of the plant control systems by investigating the root cause equipment faults, and developing appropriate remedial action.
- Manage the plant instrument systems, including hardware, software, and communication systems.
- Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Maintain documentation for the plant instrument systems, including hardcopies of documents and drawings required to assist other electrical team members to fault-find the Instrument systems.
- Maintain the plant instrument list, including instrument data sheets, calibration procedures, maintenance procedures and schedule.
- Participate in capital and maintenance budget planning, develop capital and maintenance recommendations.
- Update hazardous area dossiers, and carrying out the detailed inspection.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences:
- Have acquired 5+ years experience in heavy industry processing, HV, LV and transmission
- Ideally gained experience with a mineral processing facility; boilers, steam drums, steam turbine, zinc dust, Roasting, Leaching and Electrolyses.
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or related degree along with Hazardous area qualification
- High level knowledge of instrument and control system management experience in heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical systems including; Analytical instruments (Gas, pH, conductivity, ORP); PLC programming (Schneider, Rockwell); HMI programming (Citect)
