As part of our transport offering, GHD has a global rail advisory and engineering community of over 200 rail specialists, covering areas of network planning and operational modelling, systems assurance & engineering, project asset management as well as track & civil, signals & communications, overhead and traction power engineering. Due to unprecedented growth in the number of projects we are involved in across the sector, we are looking for an experienced Signalling Engineer to join our team in Victoria.
You will ideally come with consulting experience in the rail sector or have experience working on large projects in Australia and/or overseas. You will have stellar communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, proven business development experience and demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers. You will be passionate about creating exceptional engineering solutions and generating client value. Our multi-disciplinary Rail Team prides itself on the breadth of capability and the quality of the output they provide to their clients and these roles offer significant opportunity to grow this capability.
Primary functions include:
- Develop GHD's rail signalling capability locally and globally
- Build and manage the rail signalling team and consulting capabilities, including developing client relationships and mentorship of GHD’s rail signalling team
- Provision of engineering design delivery expertise in the area of rail signalling, communications and train control systems into projects as required, and management of the activities of engineering and support staff in this area
- Provide discipline specific expertise into projects. For example: signalling, train control, signal power supplies, cabling systems, infrastructure; standards, safety systems, elements of train radio, communication systems and associated areas of technology
Key criteria:
- Degree qualified Electronic/Electrical Engineer with at least 15 years' experience in rail signalling systems
- Technical Capability – ensuring GHD's signalling competencies remain relevant to the emerging market opportunities.
- MTM and/or ARTC relevant Statement of Competency. Candidate to hold a Level 2 in both design and checking of Signal Arrangement Plans and Bonding and Signal Apparatus Plans at a minimum.
- Understanding Project Manager's needs and working to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Understanding the client's needs and working to achieve a desirable outcome that satisfies both GHD and the client.
- Win work through client relationships and ability in preparation of proposals
- Deliver projects through application to quality of work / time / budget / client satisfaction.
