Opportunity to join a well respected Local Council as part of the Major Capital Projects Team as a Projects Manager working on major infrastructure projects relating to roads, bridges and tunnels.
Client Details
Our client is a highly reputable Local Council involved in major infrastructure work across the area. Due to this increase in workload, they are looking for a talented Major Projects Manager to join the Capital Projects team.
Description
This position will facilitate stakeholder (internal and external) engagement, project management and collaboration for a diverse range of major projects initiated by Council and external agencies.
The key responsibilities and duties for this role align with the requirements of Council as a result of major infrastructure projects led by the state government. This role is responsible for managing the planning and delivery of these projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain community networks and key stakeholder engagement to ensure advocacy activities relating to the major projects reflect the community needs and address issues
- Collaborate across Council to ensure consistency and alignment with Council’s priorities and policy positions as they relate to the major projects
- Directly project manage and facilitate resources to implement specific major projects
- Build and strengthen cross agency and private partnerships where appropriate to achieve agreed outcomes
- Identify opportunities to advocate on Council’s behalf for improved facilities or to reduce negative impact through the development of significant infrastructure
Profile
Key skills for this role include:
- Extensive project management experience across a diverse range of major projects with multiple stakeholders representing diverse needs or requirements
- Experience working on major road, bridges and tunnels projects would be beneficial
- An ability to interpret complex property management issues and respond consistently with Council policy and objectives
- An ability to lead multi-disciplinary individuals and teams promoting collaboration and accountability to result in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Appropriate engineering or project management tertiary qualification and related senior level management experience in the field of community infrastructure strategic planning
