Southern Cross Austereo – one of Australia’s most progressive and exciting entertainment based media companies – is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Broadcast Technology Engineer to join its client focused Engineering team in Townsville.
Reporting to the Regional Queensland Chief Engineer, your key focus will be on providing technology based services to all areas of the business and also working extensively on new technology projects and installations. More specifically, you’ll be responsible for maintaining studio and broadcast technology on a daily basis, ensuring all equipment is functioning at optimal capacity and capability. You will also assist with long-term facility planning and ensuring we are embracing new technologies to deliver the most effective outcomes for our staff. This role requires expertise in audio, broadcasting, electronics, and information technology.
As the successful candidate, you will:
- Have experience working with contemporary studio and RF transmission systems
- Ideally have worked in radio; however candidates with a background in TV or other relevant industries are encouraged to apply
- Have experience working with contemporary Information Technology infrastructure, operating systems, and applications
- Hold tertiary qualifications in electronics/electrical engineering or IT, or equivalent on the job experience
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills, plus the ability to handle multiple tasks/deadlines at the same time
- Have fantastic communication and interpersonal skills – you’re a team player
- Have exposure working with digital audio platforms and related technologies
