The role
GHD is proud to have one of Australasia's largest Geotechnical practices. Our clients tap into more than 150 specialist geoscience professionals, including engineers, geologists, geophysicists and hydrogeologists who provide comprehensive investigation and design services, with a focus on large scale infrastructure projects.
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a technically-focussed Technical Director - Tunnelling Structural Engineer to join our conveniently located Melbourne CBD based group. This key role will provide a balance of technical work, project management, business development and mentoring.
 
Primary responsibilities include

• Technically lead a range of tunnel and underground space projects
• Tunnel engineering design, including TBM and mined tunnels in hard rock and soft ground conditions
• Permanent and temporary underground design structure
• Oversee the production of design deliverables including drawings, specifications and reports
• Involvement in geotechnical and tunnel engineering risk assessments
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and across GHD
• Mentor, motivate and support junior members of the group.
