About the role
You will be responsible for running your own projects, under the guidance of The Design Office Manager. In undertaking this role, you will be in direct contact with our clients. The projects that you will have the opportunity to work on will be of varying scales across central and western Queensland and will involve design in roads, aerodromes, buildings, water and wastewater reticulation.
Your role will require the following;
- Responsibility for ensuring that tasks are undertaken in accordance within established guidelines, and within timeframes.
- Responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and quality of work undertaken;
- Work is to be carried out to meet WHS obligations and responsibilities as detailed in the Responsibility and Accountability Statements, as well as other relevant legislative requirements and standards including Council policies and local laws;
- Allocated tasks and IDAS responses are consistently completed within agreed time frames;
- Demonstrate a spirit of corporations towards other employees.

Skills and experience
Essential:
- An Associate Diploma (B.Tech or equivalent) or Bachelor of Engineering (Civil);
- 5+ years' experience in road design;
- Recent experience in rural road design;
- High level of design proficicney and provide fit for purpose solutions;
- An understanding of Extended Design Domain (EDD) for rural roads;
- Possess technical knowledge of Australian Standards utilised in road design;
- Experience in AutoCAd and 12D.
Desirable:
- Experience in water and wastewater reticulation design;
- Building design (BCA);
- Exposure to or experience in aerodrome design (CASA MOS Part 139)
