The Role:
Due to the recent upturn in railway infrastructure construction across Australia, our client has a short term vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years in the rail industry.Engineers with light rail and/or heavy haul experience are encouraged to apply. All candidates will have worked with at least a Tier 2 contractor and be degree qualified.
Key responsibilities include:• Supporting the development of industry leading maintenance and overhaul procedures by providing expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Identification of technical risks and preparation of risk assessments.
• Delivers on engineering design change, undertake investigations and follow through to the resolution of technical issues.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline, or relevant tertiary qualification with extensive rolling stock experience. .
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and international rolling stock standards. .
• Knowledge of engineering processes, including failure-reporting, investigations, and engineering change.
