Our client, based in Melbourne's Western Suburbs, is seeking a Mechanical / Piping Design Draftsperson with strong 2D AutoCAD skills to join their team on a contract basis for approx. a 12 month period.
The ideal candidate would have had experience drafting site plans and equipment layouts and designing and detailing Mechanical Equipment and Piping Systems. Someone who has had experience with designing and detailing conveyors, materials handling equipment, structural steel including platforms and walkways would be ideal for this role.
The role will suit someone who has had experience working on site, who could walk onto site to measure up and draw existing plant and equipment, as required.
Key Requirements for this role include:
- Approx. 10+ years' experience in a similar role
- Highly proficient in using 2D AutoCAD
- 3D experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience in preparing layouts, piping layouts, and mechanical detail drawings
- Ability to walk onto site to measure up and draw existing plant & equipment as required
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as autonomously
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Drafting standards
- Good oral and written communication skills
