With a range of new products under development, we need an additional all-rounder on our team to cover all stages of the product development and implementation cycle. Your duties will include:
- Overall project planning and management to deadlines
- Product design review and revision (3D & 2D CAD)
- Liaison with customer engineers
- Liaison with sub-suppliers of components and services
- APQP/PCP/FMEA activities
- Design, procurement/manufacture, and implementation of process jigs/fixtures
- R&D of new processes and materials
- Preparation of detailed process documentation
& procedures
- Operator training
- Hands-on manufacture and detailed evaluation of
Off-Tool Samples (OTS/PPAP/FAI)
- Production efficiency monitoring and improvement
Mandatory requirements for this role:
- Degree qualification in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- A highly positive and energetic disposition
- At least 8 years’ experience in a similar role
- Good general knowledge of a variety of light manufacturing processes
- Well-developed project management skills
- Strong 3D & 2D CAD skills
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Ability to confidently use a range of hand tools, power tools and equipment
- Well-organised, with high attention to detail and documentation
Highly desirable:
- Product development experience in automotive and/or rail industries.
- Experience in programming and/or operation of 3-axis CNC routers
- Specific knowledge of composites panel materials and associated manufacturing methods
- Knowledge of adhesive bonding
- Automotive industry disciplines
- Project management qualifications
