The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Capability Development Officer to be a part of our Major Works team within Sydney Trains. This position plays a key role in the management of competency and capability programs and reports to the Competency & Certification Manager.

In this position you will develop and maintain the capability frameworks while ensuring the implementation and evaluation of programs are developed to lift the capabilities of Major Works’ employees.

You will support and monitor informal capability building initiatives, including coaching, mentoring, collaborative learning and other methods of interaction with peers. The role works to ensure that these channels for development are ready and easily accessible to Major Works' employees.

In addition you will identify training needs, monitoring training and certification and recertification enrolment, attendance and completion of necessary training to achieve/maintain capability and improve performance.

We are looking for a Capability Development Officer who is experienced in the management of competency and capability development programs. You will possess highly developed stakeholder management skills and have the ability to effectively present and communicate information. The ideal candidate will lead performance through the delivery of clear direction and expectations while providing support and feedback.
