The Opportunity

As part of TasWater’s senior leadership team, you will provide dynamic and strategic leadership to the Urban Network Department, ensuring excellent customer outcomes through the delivery of network operations, maintenance activities, and minor capital works in urban areas. This role may be located in Hobart or Launceston.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of network operations, maintenance programs, and minor capital works activities to achieve operational objectives.
  • Build, develop and coach teams and individuals to produce required business and customer outcomes.
  • Manage departmental finances and physical resources in liaison with relevant corporate support teams to achieve optimal effectiveness and productivity.
  • Implement effective change management techniques and lead the continuous improvement of services and functions.
  • Develop, implement and advise on strategic issues and improvements to TasWater’s customer service capability.

Selection Criteria

Your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria in the Position Description, summarised as follows:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Management, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent competence.
  • High level leadership skills and experience, with proven ability to inspire, coach and mentor others.
  • Substantial experience leading change management and continuous improvement processes.
  • Excellent financial and budget management skills.
  • Good skills and understanding of relevant computer systems and software including MS Office and asset information databases.
