CMC currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer for an immediate start to join the CMC working on local and regional projects for an immediate start. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with civil infrastructure experience from within the TMR environment and a passion for on time and on budget delivery.
Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for your assigned areas costs, daily and weekly project analysis, quality assurance, weekly reporting and assistance with operational performance.
As a Project Engineer you will support the Project Manager in developing and delivering a successful project while maintaining strong customer relationships and contribute to the successful growth of the CMC business.
You will:
- Be involved in implementing or creating innovative, cost efficient construction methodologies and techniques.
- Produce construction programs for the project together with Supervisors and Superintendents.
- Continuous monitoring of program throughout the life of the project ensuring milestones are completed on time.
- In conjunction with Superintendents and Supervisors, planning the resources required to achieve the construction program (plant, labour and subcontractors) and sourcing.
- Planning and implementing the procurement of materials and subcontractors to achieve construction programs.
- Working with Supervisors to recognise variations, quantity increases or decrease and any additional scope of works for the production of appropriate variation correspondence.
- Monitoring day costs for activities and making adjustments if unit costs are excessive.
- Preparation and analysis of end of month project costs report with Project Manager.
- Monitor environmental controls where the risk to the environment is serious enough to require monitoring.
A minimum of six years Australian experience working on civil infrastructure roads and structures projects with TMR or RMS will be highly regarded and successful candidates will possess the following:
- Civil engineering degree
- Civil infrastructure experience in cost engineering/productivity/quality assurance
- Be able to work as part of a team that is driven by success
- Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience as CQR/ for TMR project
- Sound roads and structures technical knowledge
- Be self motivated and adaptable with a 'can do' attitude, and
- Ability to work a roster
