VEC - Planner

The Company

VEC is a dynamic Tasmanian-based business recognised as a leader in bridge design and construction, road and rail work, civil construction, water infrastructure and steel fabrication services.

The Position:

Reporting to the Project Manager and based at Launceston, you will be accountable for developing, monitoring and reporting the detailed project schedules and implementing adequate project controls to support multiple civil road works and civil infrastructure project cycles.  Key responsibilities will include:-

• Preparing a detailed schedule of activities that accurately reflect the conditions of the contract, design and specifications
• Monitoring and reporting progress and updating the construction schedule 
• Controlling schedule changes and forecasting the impacts on schedule of proposed changes
• Managing and reporting on the resource schedule to ensure appropriate coordination and scheduling of resources.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil or Structural)
• Good experience in construction and infrastructure projects ie. Roads and Bridges
• Advanced in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Experience in project controls on a large scale civil and infrastructure project
• Project planning and management skills
• Highly developed communication and presentation skills including effective engagement, negotiation and influencing capability.
