What you will be delivering

Reporting to the Engineering and Infrastructure Portfolio Manager, you will provide engineering support and technical leadership to business development, Early Works project development and Project Delivery activities within the Commercial Energy Services Division. You will be pivotal in the ongoing step change in commercial services growth and will deliver quality line designs and value engineering both directly and by management of external providers.

The engineering support function will span across business development activities such as scoping and estimating for new projects and tenders, technical challenges arising from ongoing planning and design activities, and into support during the construction of our infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Engineering and Infrastructure Portfolio Manager, you will offer technical leadership in responses to the infrastructure market. You will support the business development activities and client management with techno-commercial inputs in the space of overhead line design and construction.

Supported by the Infrastructure Services Engineering team, you will drive sharp techno-commercial solutions that will differentiate AusNet Services offering in the market as the energy partner of choice for renewable energy proponents and other market participants. 

Duties:

  • Provide specialist technical, commercial and line design advice to support the Infrastructure Services growth
  • Responsible for the development of specifications, tender and detailed designs, scopes, specifications and other project activities.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovation and lateral thinking into overhead transmission solutions.
  • Represent AusNet Services on overhead line matters with commercial partners and clients.
  • Evaluate options and make recommendations for complex technical problems requiring inventiveness to depart from or adapt accepted practices and procedures; modify established guidelines and devise new approaches as necessary.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with the new line assets joining the existing unregulated infrastructure fleet.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of modern engineering Standards and designs, to ensure network compliance with legal, technical regulatory and safety obligations while achieving growth targets.
