We are seeking an individual with a strong background in maintenance in a fast-paced food production environment to manage our maintenance team of 9. You will be responsible for the day to performance of 18 food rooms across two sites producing a wide range of dry foods in a variety of packaging formats. Both sites will operate up to 3 shifts a day.
Your will be required to:
- Lead by example with respect to plant and process safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in line with food safety standards
- Develop and oversea PM programs
- Maintain and build upon our CMMS
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Development of maintenance team including skills training and knowledge development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with the production team to drive line and labor efficiencies.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of capital programs
- Ensure parts stock levels are maintained and managed effectively
- Evaluate and provide direction to the Maintenance Team in line with site targets and strategy.
Reporting to the General Manager you will be a member of the Management Team in and work closely with the Production and Quality Teams.
The successful candidate is expected to bring the following to this position:
- Mechanical or electrical trade/engineering qualifications
- Computer skills
- Excellent communication , influencing/negotiation and numeracy skills
- Excellent time management and organizational/prioritization skills
- Experience in a leadership role
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Food Industry
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- HACCP knowledge and experience
- An understanding of the a medium sized business and commercial reality
