It is an exciting and dynamic engineering industry in Christchurch and an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Engineer. You will be working alongside and building relationships with the Engineering, Design and Project teams and have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of interesting and challenging jobs.
The Role
We are looking for someone who has worked in the medium to heavy fabrication area, (may be strong general engineering back ground) with the calibre to continue to drive our reputation as one of the market leaders in our field and you will be responsible for:
- The preparation of detailed and accurate costings for the client and contractors
- Manage contract negotiation
- Risk management and proposal preparation and submissions
- Innovative design concepts
- Interpreting and analysing drawings, plans and specifications
- Ensuring the smooth project handover for manufacturing
- Leading strategy meetings
The Person
You must be experienced and competent in:
- All facets of mechanical engineering with 5 to 10 plus years’ experience
- Practical experience in an engineering workshop
- Experience in NZS3910 and subcontracting for Tier 1 contractors
- Microsoft packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working as part of a team
- Juggling multiple priorities and an innovative problem solver
