The Opportunity
We are seeking a suitably qualified Structural Engineer with local residential experience to join the Residential Section of our Eagle Farm, QLD office.
Candidates keen to use your design skills whilst developing more management and communication skills will thrive in this role. There is a huge amount of variety of work including project and architectural style houses, renovations, townhouse & unit developments, modular / transportable, tilt up structures, sheds, patios, carports, shade sails and more.
This role encompasses:
- Producing and interpreting professional structural engineering designs;
- Providing technical advice to management, peers, staff within and outside the Division, as required;
- Performing structural inspections on-site as required;
- Reviewing structural engineering designs for accuracy and compliance.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone to hit the ground running. Standout applicants will present with current experience in the Australian residential market (preferably QLD), a 'can do' attitude and an eye for detail in addition to demonstrating the following:
- A minimum of 5 years engineering consulting experience is a MUST;
- A completed Bachelor of Civil / Structural Engineering from an institution recognised by Engineers Australia;
- Knowledge using technical software applications such as RC Slab, RC Building, Multi-frame and Space Gass;
- Knowledge/understanding of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards: AS3600, AS4100, AS1170 & AS2870;
- A strong client focus and desire to deliver practical, sustainable and effective engineering solutions;
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- A high level of initiative and proactivity, particularly in relation to creative problem solving;
- A valid Construction White Card;
- A valid Drivers Licence.
- Having carried out site inspections and compliance reviews would be highly advantageous
