                                     WASTE WATER OPERATOR

Lake Crackenback Resort is located in the Snowy Mountain’s region of NSW, 10 minutes southwest of Jindabyne, a tourist destination and developing area with perfect prospects for anyone seeking a tree, snow and outdoor adventure lifestyle change.   Our resort consists of 4 ½ star Chalets and Lakeside Apartments, all situated on 150 acres adjacent to the Kosciuszko National Park.

We are seeking a self-motivated, reliable Waste Water Operator to join of our Maintenance team. This could be a full-time or part time and will be year-round.  The position will perform the required regulation checks of the resorts wastewater system treatment facilities and pumping stations in accordance with license conditions.  Other duties will include maintenance and repair of water and sewer infrastructure and/or assets.

Job Specifics

• Ensuring that all testing and reporting in undertaken for the relevant treatment plants
• As required repair and maintains water mains, pumping stations and other water assets including hydrants, valves, fittings and pipes.
• Maintain the Sewage Treatment Plan and raw water pumping stations in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements.
• Co-ordination of maintenance and operations to minimise interruption to services
• Undertake administration work as required including: recording of daily log sheets, service request forms, incident report forms, correspondence to suppliers and customers.
• Ensure appropriate WHS obligations, including Risk Assessments, are implemented at all times for all work environments which may include working remotely (alone), difficult conditions and confined spaces.
• Work to improve processes and procedures through continuous improvement and innovation
• Any general maintenance team duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Aptitude to understand operational and maintenance work practices associated with Water and Waste Treatment programs
• Driver’s Licence

Desirable but not essential:

• Certificate III in Water Operations or willing to be trained in this qualification
• 1-2 years’ experience operating water and wastewater plants
• LR Driver’s Licence
• Current first aid certificate
• Safe Work in Confined Space Qualification – preferred
