The company
Our client is an industry leading business developing a wide range of high quality and innovative products for the global market. With offices based in Melbourne and several throughout the world, the business continues to improve its brand and market share. Our client currently has a need to bring in a talented software manager to oversee and lead the resources for one of the software functions and bring about positive change within the wider group.

The role
Reporting into the Software Group Manager and sitting within the Software leadership team, your responsibilities will include;

• Overseeing the software function from a technical resources perspective, driving outcomes across multiple project deliveries.
• Working with key stakeholders across the SDLC to help establish timelines and achieve budget requirements.
• Developing tasks list and allocating according to the strength and overall capability of the software resource.
• Improving work flow and project deliverables through the use of stronger processes during the SDLC.
• Conducting code reviews for the software group and submitting progress reports to the Software Group Manager.

Background
In order to be successful in this role, you will be:

• Degree qualified in engineering, preference for computer science or software engineering.
• Must have a strong background in Software Management positions; small to medium resource teams, with a proven ability in driving project outcomes through resource management.
• Must have strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously in a less structured and flexible environment.
• Domain experience and experience with C++ will be essential.
