GHD has a strong history in the Urban Development sector in Victoria, focussed on brownfields and urban renewal projects. Our team has specialist skills covering the full range of project phases, from feasibility, through detailed design and approvals, to construction and handover.

We currently have a significant opportunity for an accountable, driven Technical Director Civil Engineer to join our Urban Development team based in Melbourne. The role would suit an experienced Project Engineer with strong connections in the Urban Development industry, who is looking to take the next step in their career to work in partnership with our senior leadership team to establish new client connections and strengthen existing relationships. In addition, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of a variety of complex projects.  You will thrive on challenges, enjoy problem solving and be motivated by the variety and diversity of projects that we offer.

Do you possess the following attributes?

• At least 12 years’ relevant experience built upon your Civil Engineering qualification
• Sound, effective communication skills
• Highly attuned influencing skills
• Accountable, approachable and supportive leader of project teams
• Passion and capabilities for targeting and winning work.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

• Delivery of multi-disciplinary civil infrastructure projects, from feasibility through construction
• Contract preparation and administration
• Mentoring and development of team members
• Identification of prospects and bid preparation
• Building effective, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Project risk identification and management
• Issues resolution.
