The primary role of this position will be to provide the Maintenance department with technical expertise.

The following is an overview of tasks and activities that this position will typically be required to undertake:

  • Actively assist in the implementation and management of plant-wide Maintenance, CI & Capex Project activities.
  • Effectively communicate & liaise with all CI & Project key stake holders.
  • Liaise with key suppliers to provide innovative & robust technical solutions.
  • Coordinate & Compile Technical Documentation, including System Specs, Functional Descriptions, Risk Assessments, O&M Manuals, Technical Drawings (Electrical, Pneumatic & Mechanical Schematics).
  • Attend CI & Project review meetings. Providing debriefs and progress updates to key stake holders, including management.
  • Manage and co-ordinate project team members, including on-site contractors.
  • Formulate and provide in-house training for both production & maintenance personnel on new technologies & plant equipment.

To be considered for this role, you will have a demonstrated level of experience & understanding of fundamental engineering principles, particularly within the FMCG Manufacturing & Automation sector and will have recognised degree in a suitable engineering discipline preferably Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering

  • You will be a strong logical thinker with excellent root cause analytical skills.
  • You will be self-motivated who strives to improve both the company and your own performance.
  • You are a demonstrated self-starter, who can work in both a team environment or independently.
  • You will be a strong & concise communicator with good interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • You will be able to clearly understand and decipher all forms of technical engineering drawings.
  • You will be computer literate with a familiar understanding of standard Microsoft products including: Excel, Word, Outlook and Power-point.
  • You will be both willing and consequently hold a full Drivers-License and valid Passport to undertake both interstate and international travel.
  • A good understanding of electrical & electronic control systems & logic (PLC’s, HMI’s, VSD’s, Robotics etc) Is mandatory
  • Ability to troubleshoot, resolve problems related to logic controllers and improve PLC programs
  • Familiarity with SAP would be considered advantageous to this position
