Asset Planner

We are Australia’s largest privately owned mining, construction and maintenance services company, working across the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors.

The sustained growth we are experiencing now, presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asset Planner to join our team.

Reporting to the Manager Plant Assets, the Asset Planner will be responsible for providing estimating and technical support to the Plant Functional area.

Key Duties:

  • Compiles and distributes Plant Equipment Rates / Asset Cost Forecasts;
  • Establishes and maintains Life Cycle Cost models to support Plant Rate generation and cost forecasting;
  • Reviews forecast costs of equipment to suit specific project requirements and equipment condition and financial status
  • Reviews forecast costs of equipment when assets relocate between projects and operating criteria change;
  • Carries out the annual asset evaluation audit on plant assets;
  • Assists with the preparation of tender submissions as requested by the mining business unit;
  • Evaluate maintenance strategy in line with tendered project particulars and equipment life cycles
  • Provide forecast costs for equipment maintenance
  • Provide forecast of maintenance labour requirements
  • Compile maintenance infrastructure requirements
  • Assess and provide costs for equipment ownership based on project particulars and equipment market
  • Evaluate finance terms available and compare with preferred depreciation position
  • Calculate financial impact of project on business cash flow, based on equipment life cycle costing
  • Provide expenditure forecast for work tendered.  Including capital spend and recovery, major maintenance spend and recovery and other plant maintenance costs.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have previous experience in asset planning, along with experience in the maintenance of heavy equipment and in the maintenance management environment through a supervisor/planning role.  You will require excellent attention to detail, particularly in the preparation of tender submissions.  Sound knowledge and experience with a Microsoft Office suite of software is essential.  A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is desired.
