Our client in the manufacturing and sales of waterproofing and texture coating products, seek an experienced Operations Manager to oversee their Supply Chain, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse area.

This role will involve the Project Management of all procedures for the company, so your time management and co-ordination skills will be needed.

Position Objective

• Manage operations to meet production schedules, product standards and operational costs 
• Ensure supply chain execution in the provision of finished goods
• Establish operating policies and procedures to achieve compliance, production schedules, product Quality Standards and operational cost targets. 
• Ensure Environmental, Health and Safety compliance as stipulated under relevant legislation

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures that all activities are in compliance with corporate policies & procedures
• Ensure that all employees are adequately trained and that all training is up to date
• Develops strategies that ensure effective achievement of Lean Manufacturing objectives
• Works with senior management to ensure goals are aligned with divisional strategic direction
• Manages employees, either directly or indirectly, who are involved in the scheduling, implementation, execution and/or maintenance of lean manufacturing processes and operations
• Undertakes long and short-term planning and supervision of projects
• Defines necessary resources to meet schedules and product delivery commitments
• Leads the application of standard lean methodologies in development of efficient operations strategies
• Participates in the development, revision and accuracy of production plan
• Responsible for the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes
• Managing the facility to ensure team members achieve their potential and the teams meet or exceed their goals and objectives
• Leads the Operations Team to excellent performance through a structured lean operations system 

Requirements

• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, SOX, and work place regulations.
• Tertiary qualification in Chemical, Manufacturing or Engineering or equivalent essential
• Supervisory Experience 5 years or more is essential
