Process Safety Engineer

Rubicor Technical, on behalf of our client, are currently sourcing a Process Safety Engineer to join the team at a leading chemical plant in Brisbane. We are looking for a degree qualified chemical engineer with experience in resolving, implementing and delegating the process safety management (PSM) requirements, ideally from a chemical or similar environment.
 
The role:

• Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioural based safety
• Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations;
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
• Facilitates Risk Assessment studies;
• Owns and audits various existing process safety programs;
• Drives process safety corrective actions to closure;
• Sets and tracks goals and measures for PSM program improvement;
• Assists with process safety training at the site;
• Performs site PSM self-audits;
• Assists with implementation of Plant safety and health programs;
• Assists with Plant safety incident investigation teams;
• Participates in process safety audits.

 
About you:

• Chemical Engineering degree with 2+ years of site experience.
• Background in safety/process safety, demonstrate safety skills and safety mentality

 
This is a contract role with a duration of approximately 6 months.
