The Role
Due to continued growth and involvement in major projects, AECOM has an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our established Building Services group in Canberra.
In this role you will be working with a dynamic, high performing team to deliver mechanical services solutions for our current and future projects. Our projects cover a diverse range of the construction sectors including Defence, High-Reliability Data Centers, Commercial, Hospitality, Transportation and Health.
As the senior team member, you will:
- Lead the mechanical services design on our projects, with the opportunity lead multi-disciplinary teams in the future
- Assist in the development of proposals to support new opportunities
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers across the business.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment where quality deliverables and client service is paramount.
You will be supported by a strong building engineering leadership team and surrounded by a team of knowledgeable and experienced engineers. You will also be expected to contribute to the enhancement of the AECOM reputation and brand.

About You
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a HVAC mechanical services industry is mandatory
- Tertiary engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of design and analysis of mechanical piping and air distribution systems including equipment selections
- Familiar with HVAC and building codes and standards
- Extensive experience working across a variety of market sectors (i.e. industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and resources)
- CPEng preferred, but not required.
