As a Project Manager within the Transurban Delivery team, you’ll contribute to making communities stronger by leading, managing and delivering a suite of allocated Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Capital Maintenance Projects across our Queensland road network and infrastructure. You’ll inspire a high-performing team of Project Engineers and Inspectors to work collaboratively, push further and deliver on time and on budget. This requires an experienced and hands-on Project Manager – but more importantly a leader.

The impact you’ll have:
  • You’ll deliver a diverse Capital Maintenance suite of projects and other assigned Queensland Business projects predominately consisting of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works
  • You’ll manage and govern all aspects of your projects; cost, schedule, scope, resources, issues and risks and ensuring that all projects are delivered in line with Transurban’s Asset Management Systems (TAMS) and that key resources are allocated to support project delivery
  • You’ll lead by example, with a hands-on and collaborative approach in managing, leading and developing a high performing team as well as assigned resources from relevant parts of the wider business to ensure the best outcomes
  • You’ll manage the development of projects, including specifications, statements of work, tenders and contracts and undertake regular project progress reviews, ensuring any impacts related to safety, cost, schedule, scope, issues and risks are resolved in a timely manner
  • You’ll implement a strong reporting and governance attitude, ensuring timely project reporting including progress, risks, constraints, budget and forecasts through a variety of mediums including regular written reports and briefings to company management as required
  • You’ll proactively engage with key internal and external stakeholders and establish and maintain relationships formed through collaboration and trust


The talents you’ll bring:
  • You’ll hold tertiary qualifications, preferably in Technology, Engineering or Science and further qualifications in Project Management / Business Management and/ or certification as a Project Manager would be considered an advantage
  • You’ll have a natural ability to develop and lead high performing teams and foster collaborative working relationships in an environment where conflicting priorities and demand for resources are often a difficulty
  • You’ll bring a wealth of experience in project planning and all functions of project management, including detailed experience in projects with civil, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • You’ll have the ability to negotiate contracts and consultant service agreements and experience in and understanding of the proper administration of construction and engineering contracts including legal principles applicable to such contracts
  • You’ll be commercially minded and financially astute with the ability to work with budgets and schedules
  • You’ll practice a strong reporting attitude and demonstrated competencies in implementing Risk Management systems and conducting Risk Management Assessments
