Monica Clare Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading engineering consultancy that has divisions across mechanical, structural, electrical and acoustic engineering. Their multidisciplinary engineering consulting services include design, analysis, assessment, certification, drafting and 3D modelling across a wide range of sectors including resources, energy, construction, transport, manufacturing, and government.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with strong engineering analysis, design and management skills developed through considerable experience in the industrial and mining sectors.

The role will report to the Engineering Design Manager and involve the following:

• Hands-on engineering investigations and mechanical assessments
• Peer reviews of in-house design analysis documentation
• Certification of designs by others
• Leading and mentoring engineers and drafters
• Managing relationships with existing clients and developing new business
• Preparation of proposals, tenders and estimates
• Managing budgets and time schedules for assigned projects
• Technical support to other areas of the business

To be successfully considered for the role you will hold:

• Degree qualification with at least 12-15 years’ heavy industry experience
• A demonstrable aptitude and interest in mechanical systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• CPEng and RPEQ standing (or eligibility)
• Solid experience with design software such as Strand7 and Mathcad
• Strong design analysis experience
• A passion for learning
• Product design experience
• Able to develop new business and manage customer relationships
• Sound understanding of Australian design codes
• Engineering investigation and report writing experience
• Experience in management of design budgets
• Current driver's licence
