One of Australia and New Zealand's largest food manufacturers employing around 6,000 people across 60 sites are looking for a talented Continuous Improvement Specialist.

Job Purpose
- Provide strong leadership to the Operational team to identify, develop and deliver successful productivity, cost reduction, revenue/cash generating and/or quality improvement projects as well as maximizing capacity constraints by using the Renewal/Wiring processes, in a structured and sustainable way.
- Proactively manage the stream pipeline, ensuring there is a maximum push from evaluating through to cash flowing and locked in.
- Use influencing skills to develop and lead teams/individuals building a continuous improvement culture within the company, ensuring the Wiring is established and sustainable.
- Implement common tools and methods to drive efficient, transparent and data-based decision making within the business.
Job Responsibility
- Safety - Set high standards in respect to culture, behaviours, standards and OHS performance within the company. Lead by example in addressing issues, risk identification and reduction.
- Quality - Responsible for quality, food safety, import, export and regulatory requirements
- Operating Strategy - Ensure the stream has clearly articulated input and output KPI’s, which remove black art and reliance on individual knowledge.
- Operating Disciplines - Ensure that the streams people & machinery have routines and operating procedures that drive the KPI’s.
- Alignment & Motivation - Ensure the stream has role clarity, has KPI’s which are tracked and recorded. There are clear accountabilities (No Overlaps, no gaps) and there is a culture of recognition, talent progression and performance management.
- Sustaining Disciplines - Ensure the stream closes the loops but driving RARS, variance reporting and conducts audits to ensure the wiring is working and identifies gaps and learnings.
Your Skills/Experience
- Minimum 10 years professional experience in operations management.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Continuous Improvement Methodologies with a proven track record of quantitative results.
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean/Six Sigma principles such as DMAIC (define, measure, analyse, improve and control), Fishbone, root cause analysis, secondary metrics and statistical software applications.
- Excellent understanding of financial management measurements and goals.
- Solid project management, team building, building relationships, resolving conflicts, communicating effectively and effectively influence others to eliminate waste and improve processes.
- Demonstrated success in leading and driving sustained change.
- Experience in training, coaching and facilitating Lean concepts to all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to construct a well reasoned CI strategy that supports the corporate objective
- Energy, intensity and focus in making the change effective throughout the work environment. Passionate and self-motivated.
