The Company:
Our client is currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with experience across local infrastructure, land development and buildings projects.
This is engineering consultancy are consistently winning local infrastructure projects and have a strong pipeline in Geotechnical projects throughout Australia. The role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be based in Melbourne and may have opportunity for interstate travel, with a long-term focus on multi-storey buildings and infrastructure projects throughout Victoria.
Suitable candidates will be given the opportunity to work with a highly successful engineering consultancy and be part of some of the largest projects across Victoria with an ability to be recognised in the local industry and progress into a highly autonomous and involved Geotechnical role.
The Job:
The role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer will consist of some of the following key aspects:
- Regular use of popular design packages
- An ability to understand and investigate various sites
- Involvement across project lifecycle (from concept to completion)
- Clear understanding of a Project Management function across Geotechnical projects
- Stakeholder management, both internally and externally
- Clear understanding and specialism of Geotechnical projects
- Mixture of strong design and site investigation experience
- A keen eye to detail and progression in the Geotechnical sector
- Ability to advise and mentor juniors
- Providing a strong technical resource for infrastructure, land development and building foundations projects
- Report writing in reference to particular site investigation
- Complete site investigation, design works and risk management
- Working across diverse project portfolio
- Ability to step in to diverse teams and adapt
The Person:
The ideal person for this role will demonstrate some or all of the following attributes or experiences:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
- Client-side project management
- Ideally candidates with experience across over 8 years within a Geotechnical environment
- Clear demonstrative report writing skills
- A local project understanding across Buildings or Infrastructure projects
- Stakeholder management across major projects
- Strong knowledge on procedures and legislation, as well as standards set by VicRoads
- Ability to manage and take control of a project
- Capable of adapting to various projects and teams
- Various project experience in a design and consultancy capacity
- Single point of contact on design and construction projects and their phases following geotechnical analysis
