The Role

Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Project Coordinator/Project Engineer is a valuable member of a highly motivated and professional client delivery team. This team is responsible for the delivery of high quality program and project management across the client portfolio (Aerospace and Defence).

This position entails a broad range of responsibilities encountering both technical challenges and complex stakeholder and client requirements. Specifically, your duties will include (however are not limited to) -

  • Providing engineering support to Business Development and Production
  • Identifying cost savings and quality improvement projects and implementing them
  • Maintaining/ensuring completion of all required engineering documentation
  • Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Analysing customer supplied data such as drawings, specifications and models

The Person

You will have extensive experience delivering programs and projects that provide value for money and adhere to contracted requirements within the Aerospace/Defence industries. Equally, you will be proficient in analysing complex/technical information to make effective and efficient decisions that will ensure the achievement of outcomes and the delivery of benefits.

You will also bring your exceptional communication and people skills with demonstrated experience in project management within a technical, time critical environment. Your ability to quickly build meaningful relationships and inform and influence stakeholders at multiple levels will be vital for this role.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualification in Industrial or Mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Previous experience working for a global Aerospace company that specialises in Defence projects
  • Project coordination experience within a technical environment (Aerospace/Defence industries)
  • Proven experience delivering multiple projects within an “just in time” environment
  • Demonstrated experience with production methodologies and precision engineering
  • Ability to work to influence outcomes and contribute to strategic objectives
  • Prior experience and understanding of precision components and machinery
  • Strong process development skills and extensive experience with layouts, tool design, process improvements and cycle
  • A “hands-on” attitude with advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Initiative and able to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines
  • Good knowledge and understanding of quality system requirements

The salary range for this role will be $65,000 p.a to $82,000 p.a (based on experience, skills and qualifications).
