The position

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the management of engineering and environmental aspects across all sites, predominantly landfills and particularly assisting the Engineering Manager in the construction of the new waste landfill cells and infrastructure at the Melbourne Regional landfill  site. You will also be required to:

• Assist with coordinating timely project deliverables from different departments within the business such as IT, procurement, finance, logistics and plant 
• Work with the team on contract management, compliance monitoring against conditions on EPA and DA approvals
• Manage third party contractors during execution of infrastructure projects
• Assist in monthly reporting and forecasting cost estimates for budget tracking purposes

Skills and experience

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with:

• Knowledge of general engineering and geological principles, Australian standards and VIC regulations related to civil construction and bulk earth movement
• Engineering and project management experience in VIC civil construction industry
• Able to review and utilise engineering drawings for project development and execution
• Experience with management and tracking of project expenditures
• Moderate experience in contract administration, engineering review, permitting and contract management
• Experience in the construction of commercial / industrial buildings and/or waste management infrastructure
• Microsoft Office suite of programs
• An engineering degree will be looked upon favorably
