Job Title:  Health & Safety Coordinator
Location: Sydney Based Role 
Pay Rate: $100k – $140k + package – based on experience.

The company is a tier 1 Australian Main Contractor. They have secured a number of projects throughout Australia, including Sydney, and are subsequently looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to fulfill their Project Team requirements.
 
Main Duties

• Promoting a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace.
• Monitor daily site tasks and provide advice on risks and controls
• Ensure that OHS induction and training is provided to all employees and subcontractors,
• Manage Subcontractor compliance
• Undertake audits to verify compliance.
• Investigate any injuries, incidents and near misses and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Co-ordinate return to work activities.
• implement the best practice management systems in the workplace.

  
  
Essential skills and requirements:

• 5 - 8 years experience in the roading, tunnel or construction environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships internally as well as externally.
• Excellent skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning, communication and organising along with the ability to positively influence improved Health and Safety outcomes.
• Ability to work in a demanding environment in challenging conditions.
• Degree, Diploma or similar and a current member of a relevant professional body.
