Due to a recent vacancy in our Melbourne Asset Management Team there is an immediate opportunity for a RAM Engineer to support delivery of strategically important projects.

With demonstrable technical experience, our Consultants provide the technical leadership and subject matter expertise that enables the wider Frazer-Nash business to effectively and efficiently deliver support to clients across multiple industry sectors and at varying degrees of systems complexity. They are given responsibility to secure work streams aligned to the business plan, develop junior employees and support recruitment. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising teams performing reliability, availability and maintainability related tasks and deliverables in the Rail and Defence sectors. Tasks may include RAM; planning, modelling, analysis, predictions and demonstration test activities. You may also be responsible for ensuring that RAM related system assurance objectives of the client project or organisation are being met at all times in order to assure compliance to regulatory requirements and applicable standards.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will possess post graduate qualifications in engineering or be able to demonstrate experience delivering, reviewing and supervising RAM engineering activities. You will have an understanding of applicable RAM standards, such as EN50126 or MIL-STD-1629A depending on experience. You will also have a passion for delivering high quality work on time and budget.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a Bachelor Degree or a technical qualification in engineering and be (or capable of becoming) a member of Engineers Australia.
  • Have experience in Defence or Rail RAM planning and design including the development of reliability, availability and maintainability targets for complex systems.
  • Experience executing RAM tasks required to deliver RAM artefacts in support of system design activities.
  • Willing to travel interstate.

It would also be advantageous if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of current systems engineering practices.
  • Previous experience in a Consulting environment supporting business      development activities.

Capable of obtaining an Australian Security Clearance of Negative Vetting - Level 1 (NV1).
