As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining services; with the organisation supporting customers on all continents.
Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to be involved in all facets of the layout, design and analysis of high-quality mining-related equipment, from concept through to completion of drawings and/or reports.
Reporting to (and supported by) a Senior Mechanical Engineer, in this role you will take responsibility for the detailed design aspects of each design project within defined time period. In doing so, you may be required to assist in the supervision, training and mentoring of junior Engineers/Draftspersons or other personnel as required and may, in conjunction with the Senior Mechanical Engineer, also be responsible for coordinating the Engineering resources in terms of short-range planning.
Experience (2+ years) in a quality design engineering (ideally manufacturing) environment and demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks) application is required. Experience in detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and basic knowledge of hydraulic principles and design would be a distinct advantage.
A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required and progress towards, or the willingness to commence, CPEng certification will be well regarded.
