The Aroona Alliance is a partnership between Water Corporation, Suez Environment and Broadspectrum working as one team to deliver operations, maintenance and asset management of the Perth metropolitan water and wastewater production and treatment assets.

Aroona’s vision is to drive operational performance and improve the water and wastewater services through its service objectives of Zero Harm, Value for Money, People Capability, Asset Management, Information Management and Water/Wastewater compliance.

About the role:

We have a 12 month acting opportunity for a qualified Environmental Engineer/Scientist in our Kelmscott Depot. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and implementing systems and procedures to ensure environmental compliance for the Public Drinking Water Source Catchments in the Perth Metropolitan area.

What the role will offer:

  • Implementation of policies, procedures and standards for catchment operations
  • Monitor, analyse and review Catchment Management Strategies
  • Liaising and consulting with other branches and external agencies to ensure efficient and responsive services and support are provided in relation to catchment operations
  • Undertakes Incident / Site Management
  • Liaising with the public, major customers and stakeholders on transient activities in surface water catchments

Key skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering, Scientific or Environmental discipline (5+ years)
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills in an industry environment
  • Drinking water quality and/or Source Protection Management Knowledge and Experience
  • Current ‘C’ Class Drivers License
  • Ability to interpret Acts and Legislation
  • Report writing skills
